You have some nice synth samples going on in this!

This is one of your better pieces. I like that warbled synth sample. It fits well with the title of the track. The other synths near the end enhance the track even more. I think you should add like a reverb to the choir ahhs to give them more depth and not so "dry" and "bland" sounding. They sound so obviously fake without some fx added to it. Everything else sounds great. Very simple yet mysterious piano notes!

Great piece!

Not a bad remix if I might say so myself!

I like what you did with the filtered bass and made it into the main melody. The mix-up of the vocals sounds pretty well implemented. It would have been nice with a little more of your flavor though. Maybe you could've made like another original synth to add to it with a harmony of some sort maybe. Over all, I do like what you did with this.

Thanks for making this Dylan! You're awesome man!

theprojectmayhem responds:

thanks, i was going to trick it up more, but i prefer simplicity a lot of times.

Your 3-step always works!

This particular style is so similar to not only Pendulum, but also CounterStrike's style with the bouncing synths. Check them out, they ROCK, just like -API-!!!

Well, you still amaze me with your extensive works of heavy bass lines merging with insane and complex melodies. This one though is pretty simple sounding, but I know it was far from simple to create, right?

I'm looking at your MSN Messenger picture of the Japanese game show girl contestant, and it's amazing how this track actually brings out the beauty in that picture. Ok, maybe that didn't make sense, but have you ever listened to a really awesome piece of music while looking at something, and you notice something in the thing you were looking at that you wouldn't normally? Well, this composition did just that for the picture I was looking at. It kinda' fits as a theme song with that girl or something...giddy yet smooth and fun sounding. If you are still confused, just e-mail me...haha. I think you probably get the picture.

Nice happy piece Geier!

apimusic responds:

Haha! You're such a weirdo, Byron. The picture of the Japanese girl is from this riot of a gameshow "Morning Musume". They do really funny things like pictionary and memory. I'll link you. I'm so glad you liked the piece, I spent a couple of days (maybe 3) on it, but those were a couple of days spent HARD WORKING.

You're awesome man, thanks for the... -odd... review :)

Glad you're able to grace us with your shadow.

DUUUUUUDE!!!!

You're back! Thank you my friend!

I really thought you erased your existence from NG. I noticed you submitted this track with Paragon's 'Shadows of the Sky' and my 'New Dawn (Sky Palace Revisited)' together. Cool idea! I remember you stating that this was your favorite piece of mine. But, why does this sound like it's playing straight from a filtered website with compression from hell? Either way I enjoy it very much. You never stop impressing me bro'.

On with the actual review…

First off I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you “remixing” two totally awesome tracks. heheh ; ) This is like gliding through the star-filled night sky dodging everything that becomes an obstacle in the way of this light-speed journey to The Sky Palace. After breaching the night clouds, rising from the blue and purple hued clouds is the palace of shadows. Crashing through the iridescent walls of the palace, the light-speed journey comes to an awe-inspiring halt of wonder but then gets chaotic with the place crumbling down with sirens flaring…out we go with the chaos and in we come with the realization that we just experienced a dream of paragons created by The One and Only ZeRo-BaSs!!! Awesome track Zer0!!!

nah man you got much more talent than me..i really respect you bro.=D
thx byron!

This is without a doubt...

...MY FAV OF YOURS!!!

I remember you sharing this piece with me way before you submitted it. I told you that you really needed to finish this one because it just sounded so unique and "smoothly chaotic" if that makes any since whatsoever. XP

Ok, now on with the review of this soon-to-be diamond track...

Where do I start? I mean...DUDE! HOLY F***ING MONKEY...from Japan!!! The use of the Koto really was unique in the underground world of D&B. What was so impressive about this piece was the implementation of the Japanese percussion mixed with the electronic instrumentation from the drums and bass. Neither one cancelled each other out, but instead complimented and played off of one another instead of against each other. I like the okedô-daiko or taiko drums pounding in the background along with not only the koto but with the crashing cymbals adding the Japanese feel of the track.

The panning of the pads/strings was a nice audio effect, which I'm going crazy with lately in my tracks myself. It really submerges the listeners more into the track giving that atmospheric surrounded effect.

The bass in this kinda’ resembles that of Juno Reactor’s bass in most of their pieces. It has that reversed “vvvwooomp” sound. VERY cool! The D&B/Jungle percussion was going off the wall. It must’ve taken hours on end trying to perfect the off-rhythm of the three step style and then back to the Jungle madness. That’s ONE of my biggest weaknesses in music production…the percussion…as that is your favorite so you told me. So, you gotta’ be good at it, and I seriously need to start making more non-loop drum beats. It’s so much more creative with the different variations you can get by doing so.

Btw…I noticed that no one has noticed the subtle record scratch in there. So, it’s a nice addition.

What I don't understand is that you submitted this under the Video Game genre instead of the D&B genre. The only thing I can think of is the music for the games "Samarai Showdown" and a level off of "Art of Fighting".

All in all, this is one hell of a track you have here Jermain! Awesome job buddy!

ParagonX9 responds:

Heyyy Dreamscaper! Im glad you like it tnx =D
I remember I sent you a preview of this one ^^
Haha, yeah I started on this track about a half year ago and never had the time to finish it, and I thought that it wasnt worth to finish and submit it.. But now that I submitted it I realize how good this song actually is O_o
I got more old songs in my closet, I think ill finish a few and submit them to the audioportal instead of letting them die in quality..

The thing that pisses me off is that so many people still keep voting Zer0s cus they're jealous or something. It has been about a half year that I didnt submit anything. And now that I came back I really hoped that I'd appear in the weekly charts again (Ill probably never appear in the Top5 anymore).
But there are still too many people that keep an eye on my audiopage to lower my score as soon when I submit something. But i've heared that those people who vote 0's on good content will probably have their IP banned soon or something. So I hope my next song will do abit better in score.

Im happy that I also have alot of friends and fans who keep supporting me all the time. I thank them for that! (*And my way to thank them is to keep submitting to the Audioportal*)

Thank you Byron, for this review.
Im glad you like this song. You can talk to me on MSN whenever you want =]

Drum rolls really make the Drums in D&B

Not only did you incorporate that, but you managed to make the bassline roll along with those drum rolls. The main thing I'm impressed is the fact that you made this in FLS. Very sweet.

The pitch adjustment really makes the track roll with carrying momentum intertwining with the other percussion. Kinda' has that smooth Trip-Hop feel to it...like DJ Phooka or someone with that calibre. (I met him about 3 weeks ago...very cool guy).

That bassline near the end is really nice and subtle giving the "non-flashy" impression, which is very professional sounding. Catch my drift? It doesn't draw too much attention to itself, but when it does have your attention, you can't help but feel it before you notice it with your ears and start rocking back and forth followed by your foot tapping.

Great job my friend! Take care Geier!

.-*`*-.,.-*`*-.Dreamscaper.-*`*-.,.-*`*-.

apimusic responds:

Yay! Thanks for another delicious review. That little light squelchy saw noise complimented the bass well in my opinion... I'm glad you noticed it lol.

Thanks for the review!!

-API-

Love the bouncing bassline!

Hey, this is nice Geier. You got the D&B style figured out to a tee. Duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, do, do, do, dooo. hehe

I'd like to hear the complete version sometime. The filtering in really works well with this piece. The "pung" high frequency synth is a nice atmospheric touch added every 8 seconds...nice and deep sounding...adds depth.

I think a squelchy bassline after the initial bassline finishes up would complete the track. Like something from your piece you sent me called "The Blend". It would just add to the great deep sound.

You're awesome man!

.-*`*-.,.-*`*-.Dreamscaper.-*`*-.,.-*`*-.

apimusic responds:

Wow man, thanks for the awesome review :D I'd like to keep The Blend a little bit of a secret though... I've been trying to do all of the D&B styles I can, and it's a whole lot of fun :D I can't wait 'till our collab is finished, it'll blow everyone away ;)

I still haven't finished the full version of this track, because I think the project file may be missing a couple of the samples I commonly use. A squelchy bassline would fit in perfectly.

Thanks for the review, Byron. You are too awesome.

What a wound up ball of energy!!!

You must've been really bored with your calculus to spend so much time on this piece. It must've taken quite a bit of time to finish this because it sounds like you've meticulously put a whole hell of a lot of effort in this.

This is soooooooooo reminiscent of RageVI's music it's just tooooo friggin' much like it. You wouldn't happen to know him would you? With the fast-paced tempo and the rising and falling of notes combined with the atmospheric crashing thunder sound fx that Rage uses, I can't help but wonder if you might be influenced by him or if you might know him at all. Forgive me if this degrades you in any way, I'm just really curious. I honestly don't mean to.

All in all, this is very impressive rave-like music. Great job with the matching and mixing harmony...fits well with the track. It's nice to hear a new pro's back in the AP!

,.-*`*-.,.-*`*-.Dreamscaper.-*`*-.,.-*`*-.,

Dimrain47 responds:

Actually, RageVI was my favorite artist before I started making music, and I do idolize him, but I try to keep my own style of music going. Perhaps since I listened to him and enjoyed him so much, his style has become apart of mine and that's why we may sound similar....not quite sure....

I predict that this will be in the top 5...

...and rightfully so, not just by it's great score but by how fuckin' creative and clean sounding it is with such well production. And if it isn't, I'm leaving NG because I know just how it picks music then...poorly. That is if this track isn't in the top 5 at least. But, I have a pretty confident feeling about it too.

So, now on to reviewing the actual track...

Knowing what the original author made "Paradise on Ecstasy" sound like, this is a pretty good remix of it. You did change up the main melody, which I commend by the way, and added a little of your own flav to it.

Smooth and intriguing opening that builds to a nice danceable 303 beat with added percussion to give it that rich and deep sounding Trance vibe.

Having those twinkle bells in this track makes me feel as if I'm in some mind-altered-drugged-up-happy-land with the pill...(which I am staying away from because of my own convictions and I already "scape" my own) lol.

All in all you have my 5 and 10s! E><3

Hi Byron...its been a long long time^_^
I'll contact you for sure...

Rock is a bore; Hip-Hop is a snore; Country I just ignore; Rap is like audio war; Heavy-Metal makes my ears sore; Disco should've died in '74; Electronic I love to the core. (People are going to hate me for stating this, so I won't state anymore.)
