"Love the bouncing bassline!"

date: November 23, 2005

Hey, this is nice Geier. You got the D&B style figured out to a tee. Duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, do, do, do, dooo. hehe

I'd like to hear the complete version sometime. The filtering in really works well with this piece. The "pung" high frequency synth is a nice atmospheric touch added every 8 seconds...nice and deep sounding...adds depth.

I think a squelchy bassline after the initial bassline finishes up would complete the track. Like something from your piece you sent me called "The Blend". It would just add to the great deep sound.

You're awesome man!

.-*`*-.,.-*`*-.Dreamscaper.-*`*-.,.-*`*-.

Author's Response:

Wow man, thanks for the awesome review :D I'd like to keep The Blend a little bit of a secret though... I've been trying to do all of the D&B styles I can, and it's a whole lot of fun :D I can't wait 'till our collab is finished, it'll blow everyone away ;)

I still haven't finished the full version of this track, because I think the project file may be missing a couple of the samples I commonly use. A squelchy bassline would fit in perfectly.

Thanks for the review, Byron. You are too awesome.

Forsaken Neon

"What a wound up ball of energy!!!"

submission: Forsaken Neon
date: October 8, 2005

You must've been really bored with your calculus to spend so much time on this piece. It must've taken quite a bit of time to finish this because it sounds like you've meticulously put a whole hell of a lot of effort in this.

This is soooooooooo reminiscent of RageVI's music it's just tooooo friggin' much like it. You wouldn't happen to know him would you? With the fast-paced tempo and the rising and falling of notes combined with the atmospheric crashing thunder sound fx that Rage uses, I can't help but wonder if you might be influenced by him or if you might know him at all. Forgive me if this degrades you in any way, I'm just really curious. I honestly don't mean to.

All in all, this is very impressive rave-like music. Great job with the matching and mixing harmony...fits well with the track. It's nice to hear a new pro's back in the AP!

,.-*`*-.,.-*`*-.Dreamscaper.-*`*-.,.-*`*-.,

Author's Response:

Actually, RageVI was my favorite artist before I started making music, and I do idolize him, but I try to keep my own style of music going. Perhaps since I listened to him and enjoyed him so much, his style has become apart of mine and that's why we may sound similar....not quite sure....

-API- Paradise on E [REMIX]

"I predict that this will be in the top 5..."

date: September 20, 2005

...and rightfully so, not just by it's great score but by how fuckin' creative and clean sounding it is with such well production. And if it isn't, I'm leaving NG because I know just how it picks music then...poorly. That is if this track isn't in the top 5 at least. But, I have a pretty confident feeling about it too.

So, now on to reviewing the actual track...

Knowing what the original author made "Paradise on Ecstasy" sound like, this is a pretty good remix of it. You did change up the main melody, which I commend by the way, and added a little of your own flav to it.

Smooth and intriguing opening that builds to a nice danceable 303 beat with added percussion to give it that rich and deep sounding Trance vibe.

Having those twinkle bells in this track makes me feel as if I'm in some mind-altered-drugged-up-happy-land with the pill...(which I am staying away from because of my own convictions and I already "scape" my own) lol.

All in all you have my 5 and 10s! E><3

Troubled (3min42sec)

"Awesome job for #1 on the weekly top 5"

date: September 15, 2005

It sounds like you didn't really need much help on this...I think you have it pretty much out of "trouble". Though this isn't my favorite of yours, it most certainly leaves a good aural memory in my head. It is a tad random, but the notes that do seem to brand into my aural senses definitely stay there. I love it when that happens, especially when it sounds as good as this. ; )

I love using "Shit Talker" too, but I can't seem to figure out how to save any of my samples on it. Maybe you could "help me". lol That choir boy sample sounds awfully familiar. It's the only text-to-speech sample that can have automated singing with it.

My favorite part in this strange but attractive composition was the "bow" sounding synth that grooves its way into the track about 75% through. It's a very different sounding synth. Great use of the arpeggios and rhythm. Congrats Ciao!

,.-*`*-.,.-*`*-.Dreamscaper.-*`*-.,.-*`*-.,

Author's Response:

Yes, another Dreamscaper review!

I'm really glad you enjoyed the song, I purposely made it a bit dreamlike with the instruments blending into each other a bit so that it could kind of stick in the subconcious level of one's brain... I hope it worked, and if you say so then it looks like it did! I'm actually not familiar with "Shit Talker", hehe unless that's your term of endearment for the speech synthesizer bundled with FL Studio. It made it rather easy to put the voice part together :)

And that "bow" sounding synth is pretty 303ish, it's pretty cool eh? I thought that it fit in perfectly right there. Glad you liked the song and thanks so much for the review & listen!

Synthesis (4min 05secs)

"What a blissful amalgamation of Trance"

date: August 31, 2005

Oh, my...what do I hear but a smooth integration of idyllic kickin' beats and such beautiful piano chords that merge into a really harmonious synthesis of pure Trance euphoria? You, my friend, have really showed us how it's done with working straight from the boundaries of the imagination. Nice mixture of Hard Trance and Melodic Trance. BRAVO AC!!!

This is so reminiscent of one of my favorite Trance composers "Airbase"...sooo similar it's surprisingly delightful. I remember Milosz (aka Extracy) letting me hear the original you made of this track before you added all the nice touches. It was awesome then making this one even more kick-ass.

Ok, this is just a personal preference, but there is one thing I do disfavor near the end when you flush all the sounds to the right then left. I think it would have sounded better if you picked out certain parts of the track to pan to the sides like the echoing, hollow, choo-choo train, sounding organ-like horn would’ve sounded smoother. Because it gave me the same feeling in my ear canal as if I were reaching a high altitude in a plane and then my ears pop…kinda’ unnatural sounding if you know what I mean. Other than that, you have a diamond track bro’!

You will always have my ears pointing in your direction.

Ode To Ra

"Nice chords bro!"

submission: Ode To Ra
date: August 25, 2005

I think this is my first review on your stuff so "hear" it goes...

First off, this is VERY original. It's like an eclectic style of Goa Trance and DnB combined with Ambient undertones. Very entrancing man!

Secondly, those strings near the beginning to middle part sound Egyptian and so appropriate for it being an "Ode to Ra" the goddess of the sun. Very smooth Arabic sound.

Thirdly, the drum beat is completely kickin'. I love those toms.

Lastly, it’s just so fuckin’ cool with those vocal arps.

Awesome job Milosz!

,.-*`*-.,.-*`*-.Dreamscaper.-*`*-.,.-*`*-.,

Author's Response:

Haha, sweet, first review is from Byron!

Yeah, I can feel the Goa Trance in this... I was listening to a lot of Infected Mushroom before making this song, so the influence is definitely there.

Heh, I onl noticed the "Arabicness" of the song about halfway through making it. At first, I only felt the Jewish vibes from it. When I noticed the vibes coming from a bit farther to the South-West, I decided to name the song something Egyptian and sunny.

It's not your typical DNB beat, huh? Has some mad speed to it :)

The arps are only there to make the song more awkward! Hahaha, gotta love David Firth, monkeybullman and Boards of Canada.

Thanks a lot for the great review,

-Milosz-

Evil-Dog - TheQuestOfYour Life

"CONGRATS ON GETTING DAILY 4TH!!!!"

date: August 2, 2005

Like I've told you before, I'm not much into Instrumental Punk, but this is one hell-of-a track bro'. That is why I like it so much; it's hard to make a great piece of a genre that someone could care less about but love the track itself so much.

Now, about the track itself...

My fav part of this piece is that kick-ass riff near the middle to end with the harmonizing electric guitar. It just adds more flavor to the piece. Also, the swelling of the heavy guitar playing backwards at the beginning is so friggin' sweet. It kinda' reminds me of Orbital's later stuff like their album "Insides".

Now the only problem I had with this piece was that even though it was a fairly short composition, it seemed to drag on because it's so full of energy and speed that it makes its "rounds" more than once in 30 seconds. In other words it goes back into the main melody before 30 seconds is up. With the rising of the chords and then looping back around to the beginning it gets a little boring. It seems like there should be some vocals or even a chorus to fill in the missing gaps I'm listening for in this particular genre. But, all in all, this track "rocks"...very well organized!

I noticed that you and I are taken off the respected artists section on the NG Mag Audio division. I guess out with the old and in with the new, huh?...DAMNIT makes you wonder what the hell happened! Keep on rockin' man.

BTW...I love your Ambient pieces even more.

"I love how this seems so endless..."

date: June 29, 2005

You did an extraordinary job on making this piece loop seemlessly because I had my speakers up really loud, and I didn't hear one cut into the next loop. BRAVO! As I stated to you before, i love your samples. It gives it a nice ambience and stereo sounding quality. This kinda' reminds me of the Mr. Freeze ride at Six Flags Over Texas with the icecream truck chime ringing throughout the entirety of the track.

It is very repetituous though, but it really adds to the effect you were describing. I love the supporting bassline of the 8-bit organ/accordian sounding instrument. That's what really made it sound like a carnival esplanade of some sort. Either it was a really short walkway, or a really fast stroll. lol But, either way, I was feeling it.

Like I stated in the review you last left me...

Chronamut, you will always be my good online friend since I know that this is all true.

I know your dreams will come true eventually because every dream I have ever had has come true and the ones that have yet to come true are just not in God’s timing for me yet…that is, all the feasible dreams. As the infamous Jiminy Cricket said, “When your heart is in your dreams, no request is too extreme”. Keep your heart in it, and you will see things come to reality that only your heart could see before. Dreams have but one owner at a time. That is why you as a dreamer may feel lonely. You seem to be lonely at times Shawn. I hope I can always be there for you my friend. I had a dream my life would be different from this hell I am living, so different from what it seemed. Now life has killed the dream I dreamed only because it wasn’t a reoccurring dream.

Enough about dreams, and onto reality. I would find what you know you are good at, and follow it. Maybe like your music, since you are so excellent at it. You could try and implement that into a living possibly, since you seem to enjoy that so much. I don’t follow that because I’ve wanted to use my animation degree as a useful tool for my career. I definitely don’t want it to go to waste because of obvious reasons…all that time and effort along with the expense of having to go to school. Keep striving for that goal of yours, whatever it may be, and try to make it happen, whether it be going back to school or starting in some type of internship. YOU can make it happen, and only you bro’. I know you don’t have the same religious beliefs as I do, but I believe that God is always there to help you if you are willing for Him to help. He will direct your path and make your dreams come true; it’s just whether or not you have that choice decided on wanting to. Anyway, that is my thoughts about that.

I love having friends like you Shawn, you really make me who I am on the inside. You bring the best out in me; and I guess that is why we seem to get along so well. Thank you Chronamut for all that you have cherished in this friendship. That means the world to me. You’re like the brother I never really had man. I really didn’t think I was kicking your ass on NG. God, I didn’t even think I was because of how impressive your music really is, not to mention your exceptional hand-drawn art…WOW. That’s some great talent my friend. Now, maybe we are some really hard competition. lol

I’d love to work on a collab sometime. I just need to open up my schedule a little bit more and adjust a little better too. I do hope to meet sometime, that would be a real dream. Haha

Keep at it, and never stop dreaming man. I know we all have a little bit of Chronamut inside each of us. Time only tells when that person shines through. Thank you my dear friend.

Author's Response:

I knew that if I didnt make this song fade in and then out that it would have not looped seamlessly. The effect that I was going for is just what the description of the song says. You see a carnival in the distance, you walk up to it.. you walk through it.. and then you walk away as fireworks begin..

Byron, your response really touched me - If i was capable of tears I would be crying right now.. THIS is one of the reasons I loved the portal so much - the friends I met such as yourself that have been so supportive and so friggin KIND to me it's unbelievable! As for my dreams, well as a dreamer who never tires of acquiring knowledge and always wants to learn more - I always find myself reflecting on the meaning of life - I've learned that the meaning of life is nothing physical - its not to be the strongest or the kindest or make the most amt. of money - it's merely to make the most out of the life situation that you are given. So if you are poor strive to make yourself known and successful - if you are rich strive to do things on your own and not have everything spoonfed to you. That is my knowledge of the meaning of life.

And as far as my dreams go - I think, and so does everyone around me - that I would make a very good architect. Ever since playing final fantasy 10 and seeing the amazing architecture that the japanese can envision in their games, I've been REALLY inspired. Sadly though I look at our civilization - a world that has everything at their fingertips and knows luxury and success that only the kinds and royalty of old knew.. and I look at our styles and I see practically no effort in it. I see buildings that are nothing but mowern shapes and plastic looking. Or monstrosities of metal. Gone is the artisan's spirit, the embellishments and detail that made you look at a building and go "wow, thats the most beautiful thing I have ever seen!" I want to bring that back to the world. If an apocalypse were to happen I want people to look at our civilization with wonder about how our ambitions were endless - rather then skeletons of metal office buildings etc. We are capable of so much yet we downgrade everything for convenience.

You are right dreamscaper- as a dreamer I find a lot of my goals so far to reach, and to impossible to attain. I am very lonely almost all the time. Everyone seems different than me - or more accurately, I dont fit the mould and am thus so much different from everyone else. I do believe myself to be a pioneer and poineers are always faced off with such monumental odds. I want to be remembered for someone that did things for the aske of beauty, not for the aske of money. That is one reason why I will never accept money for my music. I do my art and music as a hobby - for that way the well never runs dry and creativity is not forced.

I'm really glad that you liked my artwork - And I love being friends with you too Byron, not only are you great to talk to - one listen to your music helps tie me back to earth when my head is floating around in the clouds. You are a real inspiration as I have mentioned before. Oddly enuff our skills seem to coincide a lot - maybe that is another reason why we get along so much - if our paths could cross in life and we could contribute somehow to each other that would be a dream for me. I think that you can contribute so much to the world!

As for differing beliefs - I do believe in god - I just believe that he watches us and kinda helps us along when we need it. God helps those who help themselves as my mother has always said. And it's true. Overall it is OUR choice in what we do with our lives.

The fact that you think my music is great is a real compliment coming from you as well! While I have always been praised about everything creative I do for most of my life, It sometimes makes you numb - but when great people such as yourself mention it - that actually makes me feel proud of my work!

thanks so much.

"You have the wonderful gift of emulation my friend"

date: May 29, 2005

I've never played the DDR games, but I have recognized the songs, and this my Chrona-friend is very well done. I think I'll try making a DDR remix of a remix someday.

Well, well, well...it looks as if you got another fuckin-fart-faced-flamer. I wish retards like this would just at least give you a reason as to why they think it's ..."horrible"...and..."fucking sucked". I guess once you listen to his own "music" you'd realize why they couldn't give any reason for anything. ("Mortal Komcrap"...a song about hot pockets on a really cheap keyboard. How originally crappy). What next, "Half Eaten Hot Pocket"? The sequel of the same damn "song". Now, who fucking sucks horribly...biatch?

BTW...if any fart monkeys like him show their smelly flaming reviews, call me to put them out. Excellent track Chronamut!

Author's Response:

In all honesty - i have never ever played ddr. I try to stay away from that kinda stuff :P (altho paragon is a huge ddr fan..)

I hate flamers - esp. when they latch on to you for no reason - and esp. when all otehr reviews from other point to the fact that the song actually doesnt suck - and they dont even give good reasons - and theyre usually 11 year old noobs - i hate noobs so much.

hahaha dreamscaper - noob extinguisher extraordinaire!

thanks for the review Dreamscaper - i <3 you! :P
